He is the Executive Director of the Firm. From 1987 to 1998, he was associated with Banco del Pacífico Financial Group, where he held the positions of Financial Manager, Manager of the Funds Management Division, Manager of the Brokerage Division, and Manager of the Financial Markets Division.
He started Palacios – Martínez in 1998. He has actively participated in the structuring and development of money and capital markets in Ecuador. He has been part of the Boards of Directors of several institutions, including the Guayaquil Stock Exchange, Product Exchange, Mortgage Securitization Company (Compañía de Titularización Hipotecaria, CTH), Centralized Securities Depository (Depósito Centralizado de Valores), Almesa, Guayaquil Chamber of Commerce, Fundación Natura (Guayaquil Chapter), National Committee of INCAE, Almacenes De Prati, Tía, and Plaza Tía.
He has been a member of the National Securities Council, National Modernization Council of the State, and Ecuador’s Representative for ALCA negotiations in the field of investments. He was the Chairman of the Board of the National Environmental Fund (FAN). He has held the Chair of Business Policy at the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral. He is a columnist for Diario Expreso.
He studied Business Administration at the Catholic University of Guayaquil, and earned his MBA from INCAE with a specialization in Agribusiness and Rural Development. He also studied at Georgetown University, has a Diploma from the International Institute for the Development of the Securities Market in Washington D.C., and completed a program for regional entrepreneurship development at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
